Pécs has no single exam day. If you apply directly, you choose a Wednesday between 3 March and 14 July 2027 and book it by email two weeks ahead; if you apply through a representative, you sit on the representative's dates. Admission is rolling, so the date you choose also affects how many places are left. This page sets out the dates Pécs publishes, from the application to the result.

In short

  • Applications for a September 2027 start open on 1 November 2026 and close on 30 June 2027. There is one intake a year.
  • Exams organised by the Medical School are held every Wednesday from 3 March to 14 July 2027. You book by email at least two weeks ahead and pay the USD 250 exam fee.
  • Results come out within a week. If you pass, an Acceptance Letter follows with the next deadlines.
  • You may sit the exam up to three times in all, paying the exam fee each time; Stipendium Hungaricum applicants get one attempt.

Pécs's FAQ still says exams are held 'each Wednesday between March and June'; the exam and fee pages, read the same day, run them to 14 July 2027. Read together, those pages close applications on 30 June and hold the last exam on 14 July.

How you get an exam date

    Apply online

    Register on Pécs's online application site, choose General Medicine or Dentistry, and upload the first documents: a photo, your passport, your school-leaving certificate and transcript (in English or with an authorised translation), and a Europass CV.

    Pay the application fee

    A notification for the USD 200 application fee follows. Once it is paid, Pécs evaluates your application and invites you to the entrance exam.

    Choose a Wednesday

    Email the English Admissions and Student Service Office at least two weeks before the Wednesday you want, and pay the USD 250 exam fee. Through a representative, ask them for their dates and fees instead.

    Look out for the links

    For an online exam, the link to the written part comes by email before the exam, and so does the Zoom or MS Teams link for the interview. Pécs asks you to check your spam folder.

Rolling admission: why the date matters

Pécs admits as it goes, not on one ranking at the end. Its Online application page puts it plainly: 'Since admission is continuous, the earlier you apply, the more spots we can offer.' General Medicine lists 180 places and Dentistry 60.

Pécs also says deadlines are taken seriously and no application is accepted after the deadline. So the question is not only when the deadline is, but how ready you will be on a date that still leaves places, and room for a second attempt.

A second or third attempt

If an exam is unsuccessful you may repeat it twice, three attempts in all. You apply only once, before the first attempt, and pay the application fee once; the exam fee is paid each time. Three exams in Pécs cost 3 × USD 250 = USD 750 in exam fees, plus the USD 200 application fee: USD 950.

To arrange a new date, Pécs's Admission and Academic Bulletin says to email the Admissions Office. Pécs publishes no minimum gap between attempts. If the result takes up to a week and a new date is booked two weeks ahead, allow about three weeks between attempts; that is IvyTest's reading of the published rules, not a Pécs rule.

Stipendium Hungaricum applicants have one exam chance only, 'due to capacity and time limitations' (About the exam).

When is the Pécs entrance exam in 2027?

There is no single date. The Medical School holds exams every Wednesday from 3 March to 14 July 2027, and you book yours by email at least two weeks ahead. Representatives abroad set their own dates, which Pécs posts on its Entrance exams abroad page as they are fixed.

What is the Pécs application deadline for 2027?

30 June 2027, for the course starting in September 2027. Applications open on 1 November 2026, and the USD 200 application fee has to be paid by 2 July 2027 at the latest.

Is it better to apply early to Pécs?
