Szeged · Sitting the written test

The Szeged online exam: Coospace, Zoom and the rules

Checked against the University of Szeged's official pages on 26 October 2026. Szeged's 2027/2028 Admission and Academic Bulletin is not out yet (it says by the end of November 2026); everything here is from its admission pages as read on the date above.

The University of Szeged's entrance exam is sat online. The written test runs on Coospace, the University's testing platform, and you are monitored over Zoom; the oral that follows is on Zoom too. That makes the exam easy to reach and strict to set up: two devices, your ID at hand, nobody else in the room. This page sets out the rules as Szeged publishes them, and a checklist for the setup.

In short

  • All nine 2027 sessions are online, on Coospace and Zoom, hosted by the University of Szeged Admissions Office.
  • You need two devices: one to sit the exam on, and a second whose camera shows both you and the first device's screen.
  • No headsets, earphones, smart watches or other devices. You must be alone in the room, and late logins cannot join.
  • 60 minutes for 60 questions, shown one at a time. You must pick an answer to move on and cannot go back. Have a periodic table and a calculator ready for Chemistry.

The rules of the written test

RuleAs Szeged states it
Platform'The University's online testing platform Coospace', monitored via Zoom
Time60 minutes for the test; 'no time limit set by question'
Questions20 Biology, 20 Chemistry, 20 English (General and Medical English); one answer out of '4-5 choices'
On screen'Only one question at a time'
Moving onOnly after selecting an answer; 'The „No answer” choice cannot be chosen'; the system asks you to click OK each time
Going back'Moving backward to a former question is NOT possible'
MaterialsA periodic table and a calculator for the Chemistry test: 'please prepare them before beginning the test'
PhysicsMay be chosen instead of Chemistry in exams hosted by the Admissions Office, except by Stipendium Hungaricum applicants

The page names the periodic table and calculator for Chemistry only. It does not say what you may use in the Physics test; if you take Physics, ask the Admissions Office (entrance.fs@med.u-szeged.hu).

Two devices, one room: the fraud-prevention rules

These apply to both the written test and the oral.

  • Your identity is checked before the exam: have your passport or ID card at hand.
  • Keep to the schedule. If you log in late to any platform or any part of the exam, you cannot join.
  • Use two devices. The first is the exam platform; the second monitors you, with its camera set so that both you and the first device's screen are clearly visible.
  • No further devices: no headsets, earphones, smart watches or personal digital assistants.
  • Stay alone in the room for the whole exam.
  • Stay logged on to the Zoom meeting while you take the test in Coospace. Failing to may make your test invalid.

Breaking a rule may mean your scores are cancelled, you are dismissed, or you are banned from future exams. You accept these conditions in Dream Apply when you register for the exam.

A setup checklist

IvyTest's suggestions, from the rules above. Do them in the week before your session, not on the morning.

  1. 01

    Pick your two devices

A computer for Coospace, and a second device with a camera for Zoom. Make sure both are charged or plugged in.

  2. 02

    Place the second camera

Set it to the side or behind you, so it shows you and the first screen together. Check the view in a test call.

  3. 03

    Test Zoom and your connection

Join a test meeting on the monitoring device. A connection that drops could leave you off the Zoom meeting during the test.

  4. 04

Clear the room and the desk

Nobody else in the room. No headphones, earphones or smart watch, on you or on the desk.

  5. 05

    Lay out what you need

Passport or ID card, a periodic table and a calculator for Chemistry.

  6. 06

    Log in early

Late logins cannot join. Be ready well before the start time in your invitation.

Pacing one hour, forwards only

The 60 minutes are one block, not three. Szeged sets no limit per question, so the pace is yours: about a minute a question keeps you level.

Because you cannot come back, decide each question when you meet it. You cannot skip one either, and a wrong answer costs nothing, so when a question is not coming, rule out what you can, pick the most likely option, and move on.

The oral, and changing your date

The oral is on Zoom as well: an interview with a University Professor of about 20 minutes, on the second or third day of the session, under the same two-device rules. Its schedule is announced after the written test, and Szeged asks you to dress appropriately.

If you cannot sit on the day you registered for, you cannot change the date yourself in Dream Apply: email entrance.fs@med.u-szeged.hu. Missing an exam without withdrawing first counts as a used chance with no result.

Questions

Is the Szeged entrance exam online?

Yes. Every 2027 session on the Entrance Examination Calendar is online: the written test on Coospace with Zoom monitoring, and the oral on Zoom.

Why do I need two devices for the Szeged exam?

One is the exam platform. The second monitors you over Zoom, with its camera showing both you and the first device's screen. Szeged requires this for the written test and the oral.

Can I use a calculator in the Szeged exam?

For Chemistry, yes: Szeged says you will need a periodic table and a calculator and should prepare them before the test. It does not say what is allowed in Physics, so ask the Admissions Office if you take it.

Can I go back to a question in the Szeged online test?

No. You see one question at a time, must select an answer to move on, and cannot return to an earlier question.

Practise in the real format

The free sample test has the full 60-question paper (20 Biology, 20 Chemistry, 20 General and Medical English) plus the 20 Physics questions you would sit instead of Chemistry, taken in order with no going back and every answer explained. When you want more, the IvyTest Szeged package adds a full simulator in the same one-pass format, the study guide and lessons.
