Szeged entrance exam dates for 2027

The University of Szeged runs its entrance exam in sessions across the first half of the year, not on one day. Its Entrance Examination Calendar lists nine for 2027, from 26-28 January to 22-24 June, all online. You apply first, wait for an invitation, then register for the session you want. This page sets out the dates and the deadlines that come before each one.

In short

  • Applications for 2027/2028 open on 1 December 2026 in Dream Apply. The General Medicine deadline is 1 June 2027, 23:59 CET; transfer applicants apply by 15 May 2027.
  • Each session lasts three days: the written test on the first, oral interviews on the second and third. Each has its own registration deadline, about a week before.
  • Submit your application at least 10 days before your session's registration deadline. You can register only after Szeged has evaluated your documents and sent an exam invitation.
  • You may sit two exams in an application period. If your first is the last session of the year, there is no second.

Admission is rolling: Szeged says places are offered 'on a first come first served basis'. Students admitted by 1 April get EUR 300 off their first semester.

The nine 2027 sessions

Every session is online, on Coospace and Zoom, hosted by the University of Szeged Admissions Office. The calendar says dates may change and more may be added if there are many applicants, so check it again before you plan around one.

For the 22-24 June session the 10-day rule would give 5 June, but the General Medicine deadline of 1 June comes first. The exam page still says exams run 'from the end of February'; the calendar starts in January, so go by the calendar.

How you get an exam date

    Apply and pay

    Create one Dream Apply account at apply.u-szeged.hu, upload your documents and pay the EUR 300 fee. It is paid once for up to three health-science programmes and covers up to two exam chances.

  2. 02

    Wait for the invitation

    The Admissions Office evaluates your documents and sends an entrance exam invitation through Dream Apply. A task, 'Register for an entrance examination', appears on your checklist within a few hours.

  3. 03

    Register for a session

    Choose a date in that task by the session's registration deadline, at the latest 5 working days before the exam. Dream Apply lists only each session's first day; your oral is scheduled on a following day.

    Changing the date

    Once registered, you cannot change the date yourself. Email the Admissions Office at entrance.fs@med.u-szeged.hu.

A second attempt

You may sit at most two exams in one application period, if the University offers the chance, and the application fee covers both. If you do not attend a session you registered for and did not withdraw from first, it counts as a used chance with no result.

The calendar adds one rule: if you choose the last date of the year (22-24 June) as your first exam, you cannot repeat it. To keep a second chance, book a first session early enough to leave one after it.

Stipendium Hungaricum applicants sit the exam under special conditions, on a date Szeged announces to them by email, and cannot repeat it.

After the exam

  • The schedule of your oral is announced after the written test; it falls on the session's second or third day.
  • Decisions are made by the Admission Board of the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School. If you are admitted, the Letter of Admission comes through Dream Apply. Szeged does not publish how soon after the exam it is sent.
  • Pay the first semester's tuition, which includes a EUR 1,600 deposit, within 14 days of receiving the letter to reserve your place.
  • After acceptance, mail the hard copies of the documents you uploaded. Szeged may withdraw an admission if they do not match.

When is the Szeged entrance exam in 2027?

There is no single date. The Entrance Examination Calendar lists nine online sessions: 26-28 January, 23-25 February, 9-11 March, 22-24 March, 20-22 April, 11-13 May, 25-27 May, 8-10 June and 22-24 June 2027. The written test is on the first day of each.

What is the Szeged application deadline for 2027?

1 June 2027, 23:59 CET, for General Medicine; transfer applicants apply by 15 May 2027. Applications open on 1 December 2026. Admission is rolling, so applying early gives you more sessions to choose from.

How do I register for a Szeged exam date?

In Dream Apply, after Szeged has evaluated your application and sent you an exam invitation. Submit your application at least 10 days before the registration deadline of the session you want, then register by that deadline.

When do I get my Szeged result?

Szeged does not publish a date. Decisions are made by the Medical School's Admission Board, and if you are admitted the Letter of Admission comes through Dream Apply.
