Cattolica Medicine dates 2027: call, deadline, exam and rankings

Checked against the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore's official pages on 27 October 2026. The 2027/28 call for the English-taught Medicine and Surgery has been out since 14 October 2026; the 2027/28 call for the Italian-taught Medicina e chirurgia was not yet published on 27 October 2026.

Università Cattolica published the 2027/28 call for its English-taught Medicine and Surgery degree in Rome on 14 October 2026, and applications are open. Every date for the 2027 test is now fixed, from the 17 February deadline to enrolment in September. The Italian-taught Medicina e chirurgia is different: its 2027/28 call is not out yet. This page gives the full English-course timeline and what is known about the Italian one.

  • Applications run from 14 October 2026 to 23:59 on 17 February 2027. Registration counts only once the €210 fee is paid; late registrations and payments are not accepted.
  • The test is on 17 March 2027, online from home, with extra sessions on 18 March if too many candidates register. The list of sittings is out from 10 March, and your time arrives by email at least 5 days before.

Two of Cattolica's own pages give 7 April 2027 as the day scores can be viewed; the call (Art. 8 and 14) says 31 March. This page follows the call.

Registering: which route, and what it costs

  • With an Italian school diploma (or one automatically recognised in Italy), register on unicatt.it and pay by PagoPA. With a non-Italian diploma, apply through international.unicatt.it (Apply Now).
  • The €210 fee is not refundable for any reason. Cattolica International warns that this includes paying through the wrong route.
  • You can apply in your final school year, subject to obtaining the diploma. The English B2 certificate is needed at enrolment, not to sit the test.
  • With dual citizenship, one of them Italian or of another EU country, you apply for the 40 EU places, not the 70 non-EU ones.

The Italian-taught Medicina e chirurgia: 2027 dates not set

Medicina e chirurgia, Cattolica's Italian-taught degree in Rome, has its own call and test. On 27 October 2026 its page still showed the 2026/27 call; for 2027/28 it announced only a 150-hour remote preparation course. The 2026/27 timeline below shows the pattern, not next year's dates.

One rule for 2027/28 is still open nationally. MUR's D.M. 941 of 10 July 2026 kept Italy's new semestre filtro away from non-state universities such as Cattolica for 2026/27 only, and away from English-taught courses at every university. No decree for 2027/28 has settled the Italian-taught course yet.

Cattolica's FAQ for that course says students in the penultimate year of school cannot sit its test or keep a score for 2027/28.

After the test: from score to enrolment

    31 March: your score

    Each candidate sees their score and marked test online, with the credentials given on test day. Results stay provisional until the recordings are reviewed.

  2. 02

    7 and 14 April: the rankings

    The EU and non-EU lists are published on Cattolica's site by anonymous code, and publication counts as notice: no letter follows. Those within their list's places are the winners.

  3. 03

    By 23 April: keep your place

    Pay the €4,000 first instalment. An unpaid place counts as given up and goes to the next candidate on that list, by notice.

  4. 04

    1 July to 6 September: enrol

    Send the enrolment documents, including the English certificate. Places still free are offered down the list from 7 September 2027.

When is the Cattolica Medicine test in 2027?

On 17 March 2027, online from home, for the English-taught Medicine and Surgery degree in Rome. Cattolica may add sessions on 18 March if too many candidates register. In the 2026/27 cycle the test was on 25 March 2026.

When is the deadline to apply to Cattolica Medicine for 2027/28?

23:59 Italian time on 17 February 2027, for both registration and payment of the €210 fee. A registration not paid by then is excluded from the test.

When are the Cattolica rankings published?

Scores and marked papers from 31 March 2027, the EU ranking from 7 April and the non-EU ranking from 14 April 2027. Places are kept by paying €4,000 by 23 April; in 2026/27 that deadline was 6 May 2026.

Is the 2027/28 call for Medicina e chirurgia in Italian out?

Not on 27 October 2026: Cattolica's page for the Italian-taught course still showed the 2026/27 call. In 2026/27 registration opened on 28 January 2026, and the two rounds were held on 27–28 February and 17–18 April.
