How to prepare for the UniCamillus Medicine admission test

Checked against Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences (UniCamillus)'s official pages on 27 October 2026. No 2027/28 call had been published on 27 October 2026; the last 2026/27 round (Rector's Decrees No. 639 and 640, test on 19 November 2026) was open.

UniCamillus, Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences, sets its own test for Medicine and Surgery: 60 questions in 60 minutes, sat at home, in English for the English-taught course in Rome and in Italian for the Italian-taught course at Venice Mestre, Rome and Cefalù. Three quarters of it is school science, a sixth is logic and reading, and five questions are on the university's humanitarian mission. This page sets out what the 2026/27 calls ask, what UniCamillus itself offers to prepare with, and a plan for the time you have.

In short

  • Article 4 of every 2026/27 call sets 10 logic and reading comprehension questions, 15 Biology, 15 Chemistry, 15 Physics and 5 humanitarian questions, scored +1.5, −0.25 and 0 out of 90.
  • The syllabus is Annex A of the call. It reads the same in all eight 2026/27 Medicine calls (English and Italian); the 2025/26 calls had a different split, with 5 Mathematics questions, so older material can be out of date.
  • UniCamillus publishes no past papers. Its site links a free practice app it sponsors; its own preparation-course page still shows a 2024/2025 course with registrations closed.
  • No calculator: two blank sheets and a pen. The humanitarian questions need no specialist knowledge, only what Annex A calls newspaper-level reading.

What each section asks

The test is one block of 60 minutes with no section clock. The split and the topics below are those of the 2026/27 calls (Art. 4 and Annex A); the 2027/28 calls are not published yet.

SectionQuestionsWhat Annex A lists
Logic, problem-solving and reading comprehension10Reasoning from premises given in words or symbols, discarding wrong or less likely conclusions, and analysis of cases or problems, even abstract ones.
Biology15The chemistry of living things, the cell, bioenergetics, reproduction and heredity (Mendelian, molecular and human genetics, biotechnology), heredity and environment, human anatomy and physiology.
Chemistry15Matter and gas laws, the atom and the periodic table, bonding, inorganic compounds, stoichiometry, solutions, equilibrium, kinetics, redox, acids, bases and pH, organic chemistry.
Physics15Measurements and unit systems (SI, CGS, technical), kinematics, dynamics, fluids, thermology and thermodynamics, electrostatics and electrodynamics.
Humanistic culture and humanitarian mission5The shortage of health workers in developing countries, diseases widespread there, humanitarian organisations, prominent figures; general culture questions may be included.

There is no Mathematics section in 2026/27. The 2025/26 calls had one (15 logic, 10 each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, 5 Mathematics, 10 humanitarian), so check the date of any book or question bank you use.

What UniCamillus gives you to prepare with

This is everything UniCamillus's own pages offered on 27 October 2026.

  • The call of each round, a free PDF on the Admission Calls page. Its Annex A is the only official syllabus, and Articles 4 to 7 set the format, the scoring, the minimum and the OFA rule.
  • A free practice app that UniCamillus sponsors and links from its site, for the Medicine (Italian and English), Dentistry and Health Professions tests. UniCamillus says it lets you build tests by subject or try tests 'based on the official UniCamillus tests'; it is not a set of past papers.
  • Preparation courses run by UniCamillus: the page still shows the 2024/2025 edition (online, 22 to 26 January 2024, €700, registrations closed). No course for the 2027 tests was listed.
  • Open Days: no date was listed; UniCamillus says to subscribe to its newsletter to hear of the next one.

Six things that make the difference

IvyTest's advice, drawn from the rules in the call.

  1. 01

    Keep the three sciences level

Each science has 15 questions and its own OFA rule: fewer than 9 correct in one means extra coursework in it after enrolment, however high your total. A strong subject cannot cover a weak one.

  2. 02

    Do the physics by hand

No calculator is allowed. Practise unit conversions (Annex A names the SI, CGS and technical systems), powers of ten and simple fractions on paper until they are quick.

  3. 03

    Read for the humanitarian questions

Five questions, and the first tie-break. Annex A asks for interest, not expertise: follow global-health news, the main organisations and the people behind them for a few weeks, not a night.

  4. 04

Pace yourself at a minute a question

There is no clock per section. Set checkpoints, for example 20 questions done by minute 20 and 40 by minute 40, and leave the last minutes to revisit questions you marked.

  5. 05

    Decide your guessing rule now

IvyTest's arithmetic: a blind guess among five is worth 0.2 × 1.5 − 0.8 × 0.25 = +0.10 on average; rule out one option and it is +0.19, two and +0.33. Guessing is slightly favourable, but a known answer is worth fifteen times more.

  6. 06

    Practise in test conditions

At home, on a computer in Chrome, with your phone filming behind you, no breaks and only two sheets of paper. Sit at least two full mocks that way before the day.

A plan for the time you have

These are IvyTest's suggestions, not UniCamillus's. Start with a full 60-question diagnostic and score each science separately against 9 of 15.

Time to the testFocus
12 weeks or moreAnnex A topic by topic in all three sciences in parallel, logic twice a week, humanitarian reading from week one, a full timed mock every fortnight.
8 weeksRepair the science furthest below 9 of 15 first, without dropping the others. One full mock a week, reviewed the same day.
4 weeksTwo full mocks a week at home in exam conditions, no calculator. Only the gaps that cost the most points.
Under 4 weeksNo new topics. Your weakest science, a humanitarian review, and two full mocks in the last ten days.

What UniCamillus preparation should cover

Whatever you prepare with, check it against the test as the 2026/27 calls describe it. IvyTest is independent and not affiliated with UniCamillus.

  • The 2026/27 split: 10 logic, 15 Biology, 15 Chemistry, 15 Physics, 5 humanitarian, and no separate Mathematics.
  • Annex A's physics in full, units and fluids included, worked without a calculator.
  • The humanitarian themes Annex A names, not only general culture.
  • Timed practice of 60 questions in 60 minutes, scored +1.5, −0.25 and 0, in the language of your course.

Questions

How long does it take to prepare for the UniCamillus test?

UniCamillus does not say. In IvyTest's experience twelve weeks is enough to cover Annex A in all three sciences with practice; with less time, start from a diagnostic and repair the science furthest below 9 correct out of 15.

Is there maths on the UniCamillus test?

Not as a section in 2026/27: the calls set 10 logic, 15 Biology, 15 Chemistry, 15 Physics and 5 humanitarian questions. Calculations come up in Physics, Chemistry and logic, and no calculator is allowed. The 2025/26 calls did have 5 Mathematics questions.

Does UniCamillus offer a preparation course?

Its preparation-course page still shows the 2024/2025 course, held online in January 2024 for €700, with registrations closed; no course for the 2027 tests was listed on 27 October 2026. UniCamillus also sponsors a free practice app linked from its site.

Is the Italian-course test the same as the English one?

Yes, apart from the language: the 2026/27 calls for the English course (RD 639) and the Italian course (RD 640) set the same 60 questions in 60 minutes, the same scoring and the same Annex A, in English and in Italian.

Practise in the real format

A free practice paper in the 2026/27 format: 60 five-option questions (10 logic and reading comprehension, 15 Biology, 15 Chemistry, 15 Physics, 5 on the humanitarian mission), scored +1.5, −0.25 and 0, in English and in Italian, with every answer explained and a PDF to download. Written by IvyTest, not an official UniCamillus paper.
