Entry requirements
LF3 entry requirements for international students
You need secondary education completed with a school-leaving examination and the two-part entrance exam: a written test of 60 questions (Biology 30, Chemistry 30, one correct answer of four), then, for those above the dean's threshold, a 10-minute interview scored 12 to 62 on the reading of a popular-science text, your general overview and your motivation. The procedure is in English, and the admissions record asks for no separate English certificate; but LF3 expects you to use Czech by the end of your second year, for work with patients.
After admission, send by post your high-school leaving certificate, verified and authenticated for your country (apostille or superlegalisation), and an official transcript with all grades and hours, translated into Czech or English: as early as possible, and at the latest on your enrolment day, because you are only officially admitted once they arrive.
- A-levels in English, Chemistry and Biology at A, A, B or better, taken in 2025/26 or later.
- IB Higher Level Chemistry, Biology and English totalling at least 19, taken in 2025/26 or later.
- A comparable examination such as the SAT in Biology, Chemistry and English at the 85th percentile or better.
- A German school-leaving average better than 1.30, from 2025/26.
- An accredited bachelor's degree in natural or health sciences from a foreign university, completed in 2021/22 or later.
Any of these can waive the entrance exam for up to 25 applicants: send the waiver form with your verified documents by 30 April 2027.

Curriculum
The six-year General Medicine curriculum at LF3
LF3 has taught General Medicine in English since 1991/92, in parallel with the Czech programme, to the MUDr. degree, with extended teaching in preventive health care. Its integrated curriculum, reformed after Western European and North American models, runs in three cycles: years 1 and 2, Basic Biomedical Sciences, in modules such as Structure and Function of the Human Body, Cell Biology and Genetics, Biophysics and Informatics, and Needs of Patients; years 3 and 4, Principles of Clinical Medicine, with clinical propaedeutics and basic clinical problems; years 5 and 6, Clinical Preparation in internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics and preventive medicine.
The clinical base is mainly the University Hospital Královské Vinohrady in Prague 10, with teaching also at the Psychiatric Centre Prague, Bulovka, Thomayer and Homolka hospitals, the Institute for Mother and Child Care, the Central Military Hospital and the National Institute of Public Health. Students keep a clinical-skills logbook from the European EUROSKILLS project, and the faculty is accredited by the US Department of Education for US students.

Student life
Living in Prague as a medical student
3LF pairs its written entrance exam with a separately scored interview worth 12 to 62 points, like Charles University's other Prague faculties, whose own second stages (1LF's Multiple Mini Interview, 2LF's committee interview) also sit outside the written score. 3LF also admits up to 25 applicants without the entrance exam, judged on their documents alone, and students in a difficult financial situation can ask to pay tuition in instalments.
