If you are looking for Jagiellonian past papers, the short answer is that there are none to find: Jagiellonian University Medical College (JUMC) has never put a previous year's paper online. What it publishes for the exam, for Medicine and Dentistry alike, is five files: one short set of sample questions and four syllabus documents. This page links each of them, says what each is good for and where each stops, and points to material that fills the gaps.
In short
- No past papers: JUMC's Examination Material Scope page for 2027/28 links five files, and none is a previous exam.
- Sample Questions 2025: 17 five-option questions (7 Biology, 8 Chemistry, 2 Logic), no answer key and no Ethics item.
- Four Key Concepts PDFs give the syllabus: Biology 2.0 (12 topics), General Chemistry 2.1 (10), Organic Chemistry 2.1 (6) and Logic 2.0 (3).
- For a full-length rehearsal, IvyTest's free practice paper has 100 questions in the exam's format, every answer explained; it is not an official paper.
Why there are no official past papers
The exam is called Reasoning and Critical Thinking in Premedical Sciences, and JUMC describes it on two pages: the Entrance examination description (100 multiple-choice questions, five options with one correct, 180 minutes, across Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Logic and Ethics) and the Examination Material Scope, the page that lists what to study. The scope page is where past papers would be if JUMC released them. It links five files, and none is a previous exam.
The same holds for Dentistry: the DDS Application criteria send candidates to that Medicine scope page for the exam, so both programmes prepare from the same five files.
Material shared on Reddit or forums as a 'Jagiellonian past paper' is not published by JUMC, so nothing in it can be checked against the source. IvyTest neither uses nor links it.
The five official files, and what each is for
All five are linked from the Examination Material Scope 2027/28 page and listed under this page's sources. The Key Concepts files sit in a November 2023 upload folder, and the 2027/28 page links the same five files as 2026/27.
| File | What it holds | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Sample Questions 2025 | 17 five-option questions on 9 pages, most set on a passage; no key | Seeing how a question is built and worded |
| Key Concepts in Biology 2.0 | 12 topics | The Biology syllabus, topic by topic |
| Key Concepts in General Chemistry 2.1 | 10 topics | The general and inorganic chemistry syllabus |
| Key Concepts in Organic Chemistry 2.1 | 6 topics | The organic chemistry syllabus |
| Key Concepts in Logic 2.0 | 3 topics | The logic part of Mathematics/Logic |
Inside the Sample Questions 2025
The sample is the closest thing to an official paper, and it is worth working through under time. But it is a sample, not a test: read it for style, not for weighting.
- 17 questions: 7 Biology, 8 Chemistry and 2 Logic. There is no Ethics question and no separate Mathematics item.
- Five options per question, as on the day, and most questions hang on a passage of text you must read first.
- No answer key. You can check your answers only by working them out again, or against a teacher.
- At the exam's pace of 1.8 minutes a question, the 17 questions are about half an hour of work, against 180 minutes for the real 100.
What the official material leaves out
Five files cover less than the exam does. Before you plan from them, know what is missing.
- Ethics is one of the four tested areas, but JUMC publishes no Ethics document and no Ethics sample question.
- Mathematics shares an area with Logic, but only Logic has a Key Concepts file.
- No page says how the 100 questions divide among the four areas, so the sample's 7/8/2 split tells you nothing about the real one.
- No page states a marking rule (whether a wrong answer costs anything) or a calculator rule.
What to practise on instead
With no bank of old papers, preparation has to be built from the syllabus up. A sequence that uses every official file once and adds what they lack:
01
Map the syllabus
Go through the four Key Concepts files and mark each topic you could not explain without notes. That list, not the sample, is your study plan.
02
Read the sample for form
Do the 17 sample questions untimed, then again at 1.8 minutes each. Note how much of each question is reading before any science starts.
03
Cover Ethics and the arithmetic
Give Ethics its own study, from standard principles of medical ethics, since there is no official syllabus; practise calculation by hand, since no calculator rule is published.
04
Sit a full paper
Rehearse the full 100 questions in 180 minutes at least once. IvyTest's practice paper 1 is written in the exam's format, with 25 questions per area (IvyTest's even split, not JUMC's), and comes as a PDF with answers.
Questions
Are there Jagiellonian entrance exam past papers?
No official ones. JUMC's exam pages link the Sample Questions 2025 and four Key Concepts PDFs, and no previous year's paper. A file called a past paper elsewhere is not from the university.
Is there an answer key for the Jagiellonian sample questions?
No. The Sample Questions 2025 PDF has 17 questions and no answers. IvyTest's practice paper, which is not official, explains every one of its 100 answers.
What about past papers shared on Reddit?
They are not published by JUMC and cannot be checked against any official source, so IvyTest does not use them. The five official files and a full timed paper are a safer base.
Is there a past paper for the Dentistry exam?
No. Dentistry candidates sit the same exam and the DDS pages send them to the same Examination Material Scope page, with the same five files.
How many questions are in each subject?
JUMC does not publish the split of the 100 questions across Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics/Logic and Ethics. The sample's 7/8/2 is a sample, not the exam's weighting.
