Jagiellonian Medicine & Dentistry 2027 dates: applications, exam, results

Jagiellonian University Medical College (JUMC) has published its 2027/28 calendar for both programmes taught in English, Medicine (MD) and Dentistry (DDS). They share every date but one: on exam day, Dentistry sits in the morning and Medicine in the afternoon. This page sets the calendar out step by step, explains when the second and third enrolment rounds actually happen, and shows what moved since 2026/27, so you can plan backwards from the deadline rather than forwards from today.

In short

  • Applications open in the university's online system (IRK) at 12:00 CET on 1 March 2027 and close at 12:00 CEST on 5 May 2027.
  • The entrance exam is online on Saturday 5 June 2027: Dentistry at 10:00 CEST, Medicine at 16:00 CEST.
  • The ranking list is announced on 14 June 2027; enrolment round 1 runs from 15 June to 27 July.
  • Rounds 2 (29 July – 26 August) and 3 (30 August – 13 September) are held only if the upper intake limit was not met in the round before.

Every date below is on JUMC's two timeline pages, one per programme. The weekdays are IvyTest's addition. The two pages give the same dates except the exam's start time.

The deadline is at noon, not midnight, and the clocks change in between: the window opens at 12:00 Central European Time and closes at 12:00 Central European Summer Time. There are 31 days between the deadline and the exam.

Three enrolment rounds, and when the later ones happen

The ranking list is not the end of the process. JUMC fills its places in up to three enrolment rounds, and the timeline is explicit that the second and third are conditional.

    Round 1: 15 June – 27 July 2027

    Candidates qualified on the 14 June list complete their enrolment in this window. It is the longest of the three, about six weeks.

    Round 2: 29 July – 26 August 2027

    A waiting-list round, opened only if the upper intake limit is still unmet after round 1. Candidates further down the list can then be qualified.

    Round 3: 30 August – 13 September 2027

    A second waiting-list round, on the same condition: only if round 2 left the upper limit unmet. For Medicine, UJ's statistics for 2023 to 2026 record no round-2 or round-3 threshold in any year.

    The outer limit: 1 October 2027

    Senate Resolution 62/V/2026 requires the 2027/28 recruitment to be over by 1 October 2027, with the exact dates set by the Rector's order. Nothing in the 2027/28 calendar runs past 13 September.

What moved since 2026/27

Compared whole with the 2026/27 timeline, every step moved later: by six or seven days for applications and round 1, by thirteen for the exam and the list, and by two for the end of round 3. The exam stays online and keeps its split between a morning and an afternoon session.

Two other changes affect the same applicants. The English requirement is now IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 87 or C1 Advanced only, and the Senate's upper limit for Medicine fell from 130 to 120.

From IRK account to enrolment: what to do when

UJ's own 'step by step' guide describes the order of the work. Set against the 2027/28 dates, it gives this sequence.

  • From 1 March 2027: create an account in IRK (irk.uj.edu.pl), choose the programme, and complete your personal data, photo and education.
  • Before 5 May 2027, 12:00 CEST: submit the application with 'Apply' and pay the application fee, PLN 100 (marked 'TBC' on the timeline). Each application has its own fee; unpaid applications, or ones paid after the deadline, are not considered.
  • Alongside: the English certificate (IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 87 or C1 Advanced) and the school certificates JUMC lists are requirements to check, not points; the exam result is the only thing ranked.
  • From 14 June 2027: check your result and status in IRK, then enrol within your round. For first-year students the tuition page asks for the first instalment within 7 days of completing registration and the second by 15 February.

What is not published yet

  • Tuition for students admitted in 2027/28. The tuition page still ends at 2026/27 admissions: €16,000 a year for Medicine, €17,000 for Dentistry.
  • The 2027/28 round in IRK. On 28 October 2026 the system still showed only 'Admissions 2026/2027'; JUMC says it will open on 1 March 2027.
  • The final application fee, still 'PLN 100 (TBC)'.

The Medicine timeline prints the exam date as 'June 5, 2027, 2026'. It sits under the 2027/2028 heading and the Dentistry page reads 'June 5, 2027', so IvyTest reads it as 5 June 2027; check again when JUMC sends the session details.

Questions

When is the Jagiellonian application deadline for 2027?

12:00 CEST on 5 May 2027, for both Medicine and Dentistry in English. Applications open in IRK at 12:00 CET on 1 March 2027, and the fee must be paid by the deadline for the application to count.

When is the Jagiellonian entrance exam in 2027?

On 5 June 2027, online. Dentistry candidates sit at 10:00 CEST and Medicine candidates at 16:00 CEST. In 2026 the exam was on 23 May at the same two times.

When are the Jagiellonian results announced?

The ranking list is announced on 14 June 2027, nine days after the exam. Round-1 enrolment starts the next day, 15 June, and runs to 27 July.

Is there a second chance to get in after the first list?

Only through the waiting-list rounds, 29 July – 26 August and 30 August – 13 September 2027, and only if the upper intake limit is still unmet. The timeline lists one exam date per programme, with no second sitting.

Do Medicine and Dentistry have different deadlines?

No. Applications, the deadline, the ranking list and the three enrolment rounds are on the same dates; only the exam's start time differs, 10:00 for Dentistry and 16:00 for Medicine.
