Campus Bio-Medico test day: where, when and the rules in the hall

Checked against the Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma's official pages on 27 October 2026. UCBM had not published its 2027/28 call for Medicine and Surgery and MedTech on 27 October 2026; every rule and date quoted is from the 2026/27 calls, which apply to 2026/27 only.

Candidates from Italy and the EU sit the Campus Bio-Medico test in person in Rome: in 2026 at the Nuova Fiera di Roma exhibition centre, not on the university's campus. Non-EU citizens resident abroad sit their own call's test online, watched by webcam. This page sets out what the 2026/27 calls and notices said about the day: the venue and call time, what you may not bring, the rules in the hall, the online set-up and the extra time available.

In short

  • The 2026/27 test for EU and equivalent candidates was on the morning of 19 February 2026 at the Nuova Fiera di Roma. The time and place were published with the list of admitted candidates, due by 13 February.
  • On the Medicine and Surgery list every candidate was called for 9:00 at the East entrance, with a valid identity document, and assigned a pavilion and an identification desk.
  • Phones, smartwatches, calculators, tablets, any internet-enabled device, books and notes are banned, and the pavilions may be shielded. No one may hand in during the last 10 minutes.
  • Non-EU candidates resident abroad sat online on 6 February 2026 at 14:00 CET, with a computer and a smartphone or tablet both required.

In person in Rome: venue, time and ID

The call says only that the test is held in Rome and that the venue and time are published by 13 February with the list of admitted candidates. UCBM's admissions FAQ confirms that this notice counts as official notification, so watching the competition page is up to you.

The rules in the hall

  • Candidates must follow the instructions handed out on the day, during the test and just before and after it.
  • Banned: phones, smartwatches, calculators, tablets, internet-enabled devices, printed books, manuscripts and notes. The call warns that the pavilions may be shielded against signals.
  • The test lasts 100 minutes. You may finish early or use all of it, but you may not hand in during the last 10 minutes.
  • A candidate who needs to leave the room must hand in the test and may not come back in.
  • Marking more than one answer to a question counts as a wrong answer, −0.2 points.
  • On the day each candidate gets personal credentials on a slip, used afterwards to view the paper they sat and its score.

Non-EU candidates resident abroad: the online test

Non-EU citizens resident abroad apply under a separate call and sat the 2026/27 test online with remote monitoring on 6 February 2026, from 14:00 CET: 60 questions, 20 each in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, in 100 minutes, entirely in English. Annex A of their call sets out the procedure.

  1. 01

    Check your equipment

From 4 February 2026 each candidate received an email with technical instructions. You install the Proctor Exam plugin for Google Chrome and check that video, audio and connection meet the minimum; admission to the test depends on passing this check.

  2. 02

    Have both devices

A computer (Windows 8 or later, macOS 10.12 or later, or Linux) with webcam, microphone and speakers, running Chrome 81 or later, and a smartphone or tablet with a camera and the required app. Both are used at the same time. The connection must reach 1 Mbps up and down; Wi-Fi is recommended.

  3. 03

    Identify yourself in your slot

A second email gives the test link and a time slot for identification, done by an automated procedure with a valid identity document. Anyone who arrives after identification closes is not admitted, whatever the reason.

  4. 04

    Sit the test under webcam

The link opens no earlier than 14:00 CET. Staff supervise by webcam, and audio, video and screen are recorded. Only a few blank sheets and a pen are allowed for working. If a network failure stops candidates finishing, UCBM may set a special session for them alone.

Extra time and aids

Requests go in the online application before it is submitted, with the certification attached. UCBM checks it and tells the candidate in good time before the test which aids it grants.

  • Candidates with a disability or invalidity (Law 104/92): up to 50% extra time, an enlarged paper for visual disabilities, and a transcriber or reading tutor after assessment.
  • Candidates with a specific learning disorder (Law 170/2010), certified within the last three years or after turning 18: up to 30% extra time in the Italian call, which prevails.
  • For a disorder in calculation, or where the diagnosis prescribes it, a non-scientific calculator provided at the venue; a reading tutor only for a severe reading disorder; an enlarged paper on the basis of the certification.

The English translation of the call gives up to 50% extra time for learning disorders too; the Italian text, which is the legal one, says 30%.

Questions

Where is the Campus Bio-Medico admission test held?

In Rome. In 2026/27 EU and equivalent candidates sat it at the Nuova Fiera di Roma, not on the university campus; the place and time are published with the list of admitted candidates a few days before. Non-EU candidates resident abroad sat it online.

What do I need to bring to the Campus Bio-Medico test?

A valid identity document. Phones, smartwatches, calculators, tablets, other devices, books and notes are banned, and the pavilions may be shielded.

Can I take the Campus Bio-Medico test online from home?

Only under the call for non-EU citizens resident abroad, which held an online, remotely monitored test. Italian, EU and equivalent candidates sit in person in Rome, and UCBM's admissions FAQ says the date and the way the test is held cannot be changed.

Can I leave the Campus Bio-Medico test early?

Yes, but not in the last 10 minutes, and leaving the room means handing in the test: you cannot come back in.

Practise in the real format

The free practice paper has 60 questions in the format of the 2026/27 call, 20 each in Biology, Chemistry and Physics with five options, to sit in 100 minutes without a calculator and score with +1, −0.2 and 0, every answer explained. Every question is IvyTest's own, not an official Campus Bio-Medico question. When you want more, the IvyTest Campus Bio-Medico package adds a full simulator, the study guide and lessons.
