Humanitas has not published the 2027/28 call yet, so the 2027 HUMAT dates are not set. What is known is the pattern: in the 2026/27 cycle registration opened in November, both rounds ran in March, and the ranking came out at the end of March. This page gives that timeline in full, and will carry the 2027 dates once the call is out.
In short
- The 2027/28 call was not on Humanitas's site on 18 October 2026. Its FAQ says the Medicine and Surgery call usually comes out in October, and that these periods may change.
- In 2026/27: registration from 18 November 2025; round 1 on 5–6 March 2026, round 2 on 18 and 20 March; ranking on 30 March; enrolment by 8 April.
- Registering by the first deadline (26 February 2026) gave both rounds; registering by 12 March 2026 gave round 2 only. The €200 fee was the same either way.
- Students in the penultimate year of school could sit in 2026 for 2027/28 admission, then sit two more rounds in 2027; the best score counts.
- The Syllabi 2027, the topic list for the 2027 tests, has been out since 1 October 2026.
What is known about the 2027 HUMAT
On 18 October 2026, Humanitas's Apply and Admissions pages still showed the 2026/27 calls and dates, and no 2027/28 call. Its FAQ gives October as the usual month for the Medicine and Surgery call and December for MEDTEC School, and says those periods may change. In the 2026/27 cycle one call covered both programmes and one HUMAT served both.
Two things for 2027 are already published. The Syllabi 2027, the official list of topics for the 2027 tests, was posted on the Apply page on 1 October 2026. And the 2026/27 call itself announces that penultimate-year candidates who sat in 2026 will have two more rounds in 2027, "on dates that will be announced in the subsequent notice".
This page changes when the 2027/28 call is published, with every date read from the call itself.
The 2026/27 timeline, step by step
Every date below is from the 2026/27 call for EU and EU-equated candidates; the non-EU call used the same dates. Times are Italian time.
| Step | 2026/27 date |
|---|---|
| Registration opens | 18 November 2025 |
| Deadline to register for both rounds | 26 February 2026, 12:00 |
| Software demo open | 16 February to 4 March and 9 to 17 March 2026, 14:00–23:59 |
| Round 1 | Thursday 5 March 2026 (9:30 and 14:30) and Friday 6 March (9:30) |
| Deadline to register for round 2 only | 12 March 2026, 12:00 |
| Round 2 | Wednesday 18 March 2026 (9:30 and 14:30) and Friday 20 March (9:30) |
| Retake for authorised disconnections | 24 March 2026, 14:30 |
| Ranking published, enrolment opens | 30 March 2026, after 12:00 |
| Enrolment and first instalment (€5,206) due | 8 April 2026, 12:00 |
The call allowed a fourth session at 14:30 in each round if numbers required it. After 8 April, places left by candidates who did not enrol are offered further down the ranking, by email, with their own deadlines.
Registering: two deadlines, one fee
- Registration is on the Humanitas University Registration Portal, then completed on Politecnico di Milano's site, which issues the personal code and password used on test day.
- In 2026/27 the fee was €200, paid by credit card within 15 minutes of choosing your sessions, non-refundable, and the same however many rounds you sat.
- Registering by the first deadline meant registering for both rounds. Registering after it, up to the second deadline, gave round 2 only.
- The programme you compete for (Medicine and Surgery, MEDTEC or both), your sessions and any accommodation request could be changed only until your registration deadline.
Paying the fee alone is not a registration: the procedure is complete only after the Politecnico step.
Sitting the HUMAT in the penultimate year of school
The HUMAT is open to students in the last or penultimate year of secondary school as well as to those with a diploma. A penultimate-year score counts only for the following year: a score from the 2026 tests is valid for 2027/28.
Those candidates can then sit two more rounds in the final year, after updating their profile, and the best of their scores counts. For everyone else, the scores of a calendar year count only for that year's admission.
Planning around the pattern
01
Now to the call
Work from the Syllabi 2027. Sit a diagnostic so the plan follows your weakest section, not your favourite one.
02
When registration opens
Register before the first deadline so both rounds are open to you; in 2026/27 the fee was the same.
03
The weeks before round 1
Do the official demo on the computer you will use, and sit full timed mocks in the three-section format.
04
Between the rounds
Round 2 came 12 days after round 1 in 2026. Only your better score counts, so a weak first round is not final.
Humanitas's own Preparation Week
Humanitas runs a paid, live online preparation course for the HUMAT, the Preparation Week: 40 hours, €700, 50 places. Its page lists editions in October 2026, November 2026 and January 2027, each with its own registration deadline. It is Humanitas's course, separate from IvyTest's preparation.
