UMCH Medicine Admission Test at a glance
Overview
What is the UMCH Medicine Admission Test?
UMFST-UMCH Campus Hamburg runs its own admission assessment for its English-taught Medicine programme. It is not the TMS (Germany's public aptitude test for medical-school places, which has nine subtests and no science content at all), and there is no shared German entrance exam behind it. UMCH writes and marks its own paper, and it is a content test rather than an aptitude test: what it asks about is what you know.
One point causes more confusion than anything else about this exam, so it is worth settling first. The institution's name and its catalogue slug both mention Târgu Mureș, a city in Romania. That is where UMFST, the parent university, is based. The campus this admission test admits to (and the campus where the on-site version of the test is sat) is in Hamburg, Germany. Two caveats if you are choosing between a German and a Romanian medical school: UMCH says its students are enrolled at UMFST in Târgu Mureș, not at a German university, and that three laboratory modules in years 1 to 3 (anatomy, microbiology and pathology) are completed in Târgu Mureș.
The assessment has two parts, taken online by video conference or on site at the Hamburg campus, and the evaluation follows the interview at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it. It opens with a motivation-based selection interview of 15 to 20 minutes, conducted in English, which UMCH also uses to test your English. The written evaluation follows: 75 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes, split equally across Biology, Chemistry and General Knowledge. The written evaluation carries 60% of the overall admission assessment and the interview 40%, and the result is issued within 48 hours. UMCH advertises no numerus clausus and publishes no cut-off score.

UMCH Medicine Admission Test 2027: dates and deadlines
- February 2027any dateBased on 2026
Applications are rolling: apply any time.
Predicted from this university's past sittings until it publishes its own dates. See every university on the calendar →
- Applications openNo fixed annual opening date: UMCH admits on a rolling basis rather than through one published application window
- Registration deadlineEnd of July: UMCH's FAQ says the application period for the coming academic year 'always runs until the end of July' (one answer on its application page says the end of August). Places are awarded on a rolling basis, so apply early
- Written evaluationOn 12 October 2026 UMCH listed admission dates of 14 October, 21 October and 4 November 2026, online or on site, and books individual dates on request. UMCH names no intake for these dates: a successful candidate is offered a place for the next winter semester, within capacity
- Selection interviewHeld before the written evaluation: the evaluation follows the interview at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it
- Result issuedNo calendar date applies, because sittings are individually booked. UMCH states the result is issued within 48 hours of the assessment day
- Enrolment deadlineNo separate enrolment deadline is published: UMCH's tuition page says the first year's tuition and the one-time enrolment fee are due upon signing the study contract
UMCH's admission pages were read directly on 12 October 2026 and describe a rolling process: a short list of upcoming admission dates, individual dates on request, and an application period that runs until the end of July. That is why this section carries no fixed annual dates. Note also that the 'apply.umch.de 5 Tips' page some guides cite now redirects to application-portal.umch.de and returns a 404 there; it is not a usable source. IvyTest re-checks edu.umch.de/en/application-information and edu.umch.de/en/faq and updates this guide when UMCH publishes a fixed calendar.
Structure
UMCH Medicine Admission Test format
75 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes (about 72 seconds per question), across three areas UMCH states are equally weighted. The per-area question counts below follow directly from that official equal weighting; UMCH itself publishes only the total and the equality, not a breakdown, so treat 25/25/25 as the arithmetic consequence rather than as a number UMCH has printed. No time column is given because UMCH publishes no per-section timing and no section breaks.
| Section | Questions | Weighting | Suggested time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Biology | 25 | 33% (one of three equally weighted areas) | *see the note below the table |
| Chemistry | 25 | 33% (one of three equally weighted areas) | *see the note below the table |
| General Knowledge | 25 | 33% (one of three equally weighted areas) | *see the note below the table |
- UMCH publishes no per-section timing: you manage the full 90 minutes yourself
Content
Question and subject breakdown
Three areas, equal in weight, and the third one is the reason most generic medicine-admission preparation does not fit this exam. General Knowledge is worth exactly as much as Biology, and exactly as much as Chemistry: a third of the written evaluation each.
Biology
33%Cell biology, genetics and molecular biology, human anatomy and physiology, histology and tissue types, immunology and microbiology, and evolution and ecology. UMCH describes the paper as consisting of simple, basic questions, so the level sits at strong high-school or pre-med rather than first-year medical school: the breadth is the challenge, not the depth. Human physiology, cell biology and genetics carry the heaviest emphasis; evolution and ecology the lightest.
Chemistry
33%Atomic structure and the periodic table, bonding and polarity, chemical reactions, moles and concentration, acids and bases and pH, organic chemistry and biochemistry. Fundamentals with a medical lens: the calculations that appear are the ones a clinician meets (molar mass, dilution, pH) rather than advanced reaction mechanisms or university-level pathways.
General Knowledge
33%Applied medical awareness rather than trivia: common diseases and risk factors explained in plain terms, public health and prevention, medical ethics, scientific literacy and data interpretation, Europe and the global context, and current affairs in medicine. It is the least predictable third of the paper and the one candidates most often leave unprepared.
Marks
UMCH Medicine Admission Test scoring
This is the part of the UMCH test that is genuinely not public, and it is better to say so than to fill the gap with a number. UMCH publishes no marking scheme, no option count and no pass mark; its own pages were re-checked directly on 12 October 2026 and state none of the three. What UMCH does publish is the weighting between the two parts, and that is where the useful arithmetic lives.
- Correct answer
- Not published. IvyTest's working estimate is one mark per correct answer, the commonest and the neutral assumption
- Incorrect answer
- Not published. UMCH neither confirms nor rules out negative marking, so a penalty cannot be assumed away
- Unanswered question
- Not published; see above
- Written evaluation weighting
- 60% of the overall admission assessment
- Selection interview weighting
- 40% of the overall admission assessment
- Section reporting
- Scored separately: candidates who complete the procedure receive a certificate showing results for the individual exam sections
- Minimum eligible score
- Not published, and UMCH advertises no numerus clausus. The '50% of total points' figure that circulates traces to an independent advisory site, not to any UMCH document

UMCH publishes the three area names and nothing else: no topic list, no depth statement beyond 'simple, basic questions', no sample paper. The groupings below are IvyTest's own mapping of what each area covers at the level UMCH describes, and should be read as a preparation map rather than as an official syllabus.
Six areas, with human physiology, cell biology and genetics carrying the heaviest emphasis and evolution and ecology the lightest.
- Cell biology: animal and plant cells, prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells, the nucleus, mitochondria, ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi apparatus and lysosomes, the selectively permeable membrane, diffusion, osmosis, facilitated diffusion and active transport, tonicity, and mitosis compared with meiosis by purpose, number of divisions, daughter cells and genetic variation
- Genetics and molecular biology: DNA and RNA, genes and chromosomes, replication, transcription and translation, the central dogma, codons, the roles of mRNA, tRNA and ribosomes, genotype and phenotype, homozygous and heterozygous, dominant and recessive, Punnett squares and monohybrid crosses, sex-linked traits, and how mutations alter proteins and cause genetic disease
- Human anatomy and physiology (cardiovascular): heart chambers and valves, arteries, veins and capillaries, pulmonary and systemic circulation, blood components, haemoglobin and blood pressure
- Human anatomy and physiology (respiratory and digestive): trachea, bronchi and alveoli, gas exchange, the diaphragm, oxygen and carbon dioxide transport; the stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas and intestines, digestive enzymes, bile and absorption
- Human anatomy and physiology (nervous, endocrine, urinary and reproductive): neuron anatomy, synapses and neurotransmitters, CNS and PNS, the reflex arc, sympathetic and parasympathetic division; the pituitary, thyroid, pancreas, adrenals and gonads, insulin and glucagon; the nephron, filtration, reabsorption, secretion and water, salt and pH balance; fertilisation, the menstrual cycle, oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone, FSH and LH; homeostasis and negative feedback
- Histology and tissue types: epithelial, connective, muscle and nervous tissue, blood as a connective tissue, bone and cartilage, smooth, skeletal and cardiac muscle, which tissue lines organs and which conducts impulses
- Immunology and microbiology: differences between bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites, why antibiotics act on bacteria and not on viruses, antibiotic resistance and the behaviours that drive it, antigens and antibodies, vaccination and immune memory, inflammation, innate and adaptive immunity
- Evolution and ecology: natural selection and adaptation, biodiversity, food chains and trophic roles, ecosystems, human environmental impact
Fundamentals with a medical lens: the guidance UMCH's level statement implies is to stay away from advanced reaction mechanisms and university-level pathways.
- Atomic structure and the periodic table: protons, neutrons and electrons, atomic number and mass number, calculating particle counts from an ion's charge, isotopes and ions, electron shells, groups and periods, metals and non-metals, alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, halogens and noble gases, and basic trends in electronegativity, reactivity and atomic radius
- Chemical bonding and polarity: ionic, covalent and metallic bonding, electron transfer against electron sharing, polar and non-polar bonds, why water is polar, hydrogen bonding in water, proteins and DNA base pairing, intermolecular forces and their effect on boiling point and solubility, molecular polarity
- Chemical reactions: reactants and products, balancing simple equations, synthesis, decomposition, combustion and neutralisation reactions, oxidation and reduction, exothermic and endothermic reactions, catalysts
- Moles and concentration: molar mass from a formula, Avogadro's number, mass-to-mole conversion, molarity in moles per litre, the dilution relation C1V1 = C2V2, percentage concentration
- Acids, bases and pH: definitions of acid and base, the pH scale, acidic, neutral and basic, strong against weak acids and bases, neutralisation and salts, buffers and why blood needs them, the importance of pH in biological fluids
- Organic chemistry: carbon bonding, hydrocarbons, saturated and unsaturated compounds, recognition of alcohols, carboxylic acids, amines, aldehydes, ketones and esters, identifying a functional group from a formula, recognising the features of an amino acid
- Biochemistry and biomolecules: carbohydrates including glucose, starch and glycogen and simple against complex carbohydrates, lipids including fats, phospholipids and cholesterol, proteins including amino acids, peptide bonds and enzymes, nucleic acids including nucleotides and base pairing, ATP as the energy currency, mitochondria and basic cellular respiration, membrane composition
Applied medical awareness rather than trivia. Keep to the factual and uncontroversial (this area rewards an informed reader, not a quiz champion), and refresh the current-affairs material before each cycle, since it dates fastest of anything on the paper.
- Medical and health knowledge: diabetes, hypertension, obesity, cancer, cardiovascular disease and infectious disease explained in simple terms, vaccination, antibiotic resistance, mental health, nutrition, smoking and alcohol, exercise, organ donation, first-aid basics, common risk factors
- Public health and prevention: prevention against treatment, screening, herd immunity, epidemics and pandemics, the role of the WHO, risk factors, health education, hygiene, ageing populations, health inequality, environmental health
- Medical ethics: autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence and justice, confidentiality, informed consent, empathy, dignity and equality, the doctor-patient relationship, and applied cases such as refusal of treatment or withholding unnecessary antibiotics
- Scientific literacy and data interpretation: hypothesis, observation and conclusion, experiments, control groups, placebo and randomisation, clinical-trial basics, correlation against causation, percentages, averages and simple probability, reading bar charts, line graphs and tables
- Europe and the global context: basic geography, Hamburg and Germany, Romania and the EU context, the UN, the WHO and the main EU bodies, global health issues
- Current affairs in medicine: artificial intelligence in medicine and its benefits and risks, digital health, climate and health, pandemics, antibiotic resistance, ageing populations, healthcare workforce shortages, medical innovation, public trust in science

How difficult is the UMCH Medicine Admission Test?
UMCH describes its own written paper as simple, basic questions, and that is a fair description of each individual item. What makes the assessment demanding is its shape: a wide, shallow syllabus, a third of it in an area nobody revises, a fast clock, and a second stage that no amount of science preparation touches.
A third of the weighting is General Knowledge
Twenty-five of the 75 questions sit outside Biology and Chemistry entirely: public health, medical ethics, scientific literacy, current affairs in medicine. It is weighted exactly the same as each science, and it is the area with the least published guidance and the least available practice. Candidates working from a standard pre-med syllabus arrive having prepared two-thirds of the test.
Seventy-two seconds a question
Seventy-five questions in 90 minutes leaves about 72 seconds each, with no section breaks and no published per-area timing. That is comfortable for a recall question and tight for a two-step calculation, which means the dilution and molar-mass arithmetic has to be automatic rather than worked out from first principles on the day.
The marking rules are genuinely unpublished
UMCH does not state how many options a question carries, whether a wrong answer costs anything, or what score constitutes a pass. Its pages were re-checked directly on 12 October 2026 and confirm these are unpublished rather than merely hard to find. You cannot build a guessing strategy on rules nobody has shown you, so build the one habit that is correct under every scheme: eliminate before you commit.
The interview is 40%, and it is not a formality
A 15-to-20-minute motivation-based interview in English carries four-tenths of the admission decision. It is scored, the written evaluation follows it at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it, and no amount of biology compensates for walking into it unprepared. Candidates routinely spend twelve weeks on the sciences and twenty minutes thinking about why they want to be a doctor.
One appointment, one result, both parts
The evaluation follows the interview at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it, and the result follows within 48 hours. That is genuinely convenient (no months of waiting, no second trip), but it also means there is no interval in which to recover. Whatever state you arrive in is the state both parts are sat in.
Benchmarks
What is a good UMCH Medicine Admission Test score?
UMCH publishes no cut-off, no acceptance rate and no numerus clausus, so there is no official number for 'what score gets you in'. A '50% of total points' threshold circulates widely; it was traced to an independent advisory site that does not attribute it to any UMCH document, and it is not reproduced here as a target.
The one thing UMCH does confirm about results is structural rather than numerical: candidates who complete the procedure receive a certificate showing results for the individual exam sections, so Biology, Chemistry and General Knowledge are marked separately rather than dissolved into a single figure. That is worth knowing, because it means an uneven profile is visible to the admissions side even when the total looks fine.
In the absence of a published threshold, the useful target during preparation is an even one: a consistent, similar percentage across all three areas on full 75-question timed mocks, rather than a strong science score propped up by whichever area you happen to enjoy. Track the General Knowledge percentage separately from the start: it is the one most likely to be quietly dragging the total, and the one least likely to improve on its own.

- · Any official pass mark or cut-off score
- · Marking scheme, including whether wrong answers carry a penalty
- · Number of answer options per question
- · Seats per intake and applicant volume
- · How the interview's 40% is scored and on what scale
These specific numbers aren't public yet — an IvyTest simulator score is the closest benchmark you can get today.

How to prepare for the UMCH Medicine Admission Test
Three equal areas, three equal shares of your time
Even coverage across Biology, Chemistry and General Knowledge, with the interview started early.
- Sit a full 75-question diagnostic in week one, timed at 90 minutes, and score the three areas separately, the same way UMCH's own certificate reports them.
- Split study time in thirds to match the official equal weighting, rather than giving General Knowledge whatever is left over. It is a third of the questions and cannot be revised in a weekend.
- Build the chemistry arithmetic (molar mass, C1V1 = C2V2, percentage concentration, pH) to the point where it is automatic, because 72 seconds a question does not allow for deriving it.
- Start interview preparation in week one, not week eleven. Forty per cent of the decision is a 15-to-20 minute English conversation about motivation, and the written evaluation follows it at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it.
Close the General Knowledge gap first
The area with no published syllabus, no practice bank and a full third of the marks.
- Diagnostic first, then check the three area scores against each other: on a paper with equal weighting, the lowest area is always the highest-return target regardless of which one it is.
- Give General Knowledge a fixed slot every week: public health, medical ethics, scientific literacy and the medicine-related current affairs. Read broadly and factually; the area rewards an informed reader and punishes opinion.
- One full 90-minute mock a week from week two, reviewed the same day with wrong answers logged by area and by cause: content gap, misread, or ran out of time.
- Rehearse the logistics: decide now whether you will sit online by video conference or on site in Hamburg, and practise under the conditions you have chosen.
Full 75-question sittings at exam pace
Volume of timed practice and the elimination habit.
- Two full 90-minute mocks a week, all 75 questions, no breaks: the same unbroken block UMCH runs.
- Drill the elimination habit explicitly: rule out at least one option before committing on anything you are unsure of. With no published marking rule, this is the only approach that is right whether or not wrong answers carry a penalty.
- Refresh the current-affairs material specifically. It is the fastest-dating content on the paper and the cheapest to top up late.
- Run at least one full interview rehearsal out loud, in English, timed at 20 minutes: on the real day it comes first, before the written paper.
Protect the even profile
Triage across three equally weighted areas, plus the interview nobody prepares for.
- Stop adding new science content. Consolidate the highest-frequency Biology and Chemistry topics you already half-know rather than opening new ground.
- Spend at least two dedicated sessions on General Knowledge even this late: medical ethics and public health are small, learnable bodies of material with a third of the weighting behind them.
- Sit at least two full, timed 75-question mocks in the final ten days, then taper.
- Prepare the interview properly: why medicine, why Hamburg, why this programme, and how you handle a straightforward ethical question. It is 40% of the decision and the single most under-prepared part of this assessment.

FAQ
UMCH Medicine Admission Test frequently asked questions
It is the admission assessment UMFST-UMCH Campus Hamburg uses for its English-taught Medicine programme: a 15-to-20 minute motivation-based interview in English, followed by a 75-question multiple-choice written evaluation in 90 minutes covering Biology, Chemistry and General Knowledge. The written part carries 60% of the decision and the interview 40%, and the evaluation follows the interview at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it.
Germany. The name and the catalogue slug both mention Târgu Mureș because UMFST, the parent university, is based there, but UMCH is UMFST's Hamburg campus: the admission test and the teaching base are in Hamburg, with clinical years at partner hospitals in Germany. UMCH does say three laboratory modules in years 1 to 3 (anatomy, microbiology and pathology) are completed in Târgu Mureș. The on-site version of the assessment is sat at the Hamburg campus; there is also an online option by video conference.
No. The TMS is Germany's public aptitude test for medical-school places, built from nine subtests with no science content at all. UMCH does not use it and does not resemble it: this is a short, content-based knowledge test (what you know about biology, chemistry and applied medical topics), followed by an interview.
Either. UMCH states that both the written evaluation and the interview may be taken online by video conference or on site at the Hamburg campus; the evaluation follows the interview at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it, and the result is issued within 48 hours.
The honest answer is that UMCH does not publish this. Its admission pages were re-checked directly on 12 October 2026 and state neither how many answer options a question carries, nor whether a wrong answer costs anything, nor any pass mark. What is published is that the three areas are equally weighted, that sections are reported separately on the certificate candidates receive, and that the written evaluation is 60% of the decision against the interview's 40%.
None is published, and UMCH advertises no numerus clausus. A figure of 50% of total points for an offer, with 60% for a distinction, circulates online; it was traced to an independent advisory and agency site that does not attribute it to any UMCH document, so it should not be treated as a UMCH threshold. Confirm the current requirement directly with the admissions team.
English. The motivation-based interview is held in English and is where UMCH tests your English: B2 is the minimum, and a certificate such as IELTS or Cambridge can show it instead. UMCH states no separate language for the written evaluation, but the programme and every application document are in English.
UMCH does not publish a seat count, an applicant volume or an acceptance rate, and it advertises no numerus clausus: places are offered on a rolling basis as candidates complete the procedure. They are limited by capacity, though: UMCH says that once the coming winter semester is full, a successful candidate is offered a place for the following one, with the option of the waiting list for the coming one. Any specific acceptance percentage quoted elsewhere is somebody's estimate rather than a UMCH figure.
It is a full third of the written paper: 25 of 75 questions, weighted the same as Biology and the same as Chemistry. It is not trivia: it covers applied medical awareness, public health and prevention, medical ethics, scientific literacy and data interpretation, the European and global context, and current affairs in medicine. Prepare it as a subject, with a weekly slot, and refresh the current-affairs material before your assessment date because it dates faster than anything else on the paper.
UMCH states that its six-year degree corresponds to the professional qualification listed in Annex V of the EU directive on professional qualifications, the basis for a licence to practise in the EU and many other countries. For a German licence (Approbation) it adds that graduates must also prove German, B2 in general and C1 in medical terminology, which generally does not apply to holders of a school diploma from a German-speaking country. UMFST and UMCH are listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (FAIMER ID F0000226), which UMCH says currently lets students take the USMLE, and its home page says graduates are eligible to register with the GMC. Students are enrolled at UMFST in Târgu Mureș. For the UK, the Medical Act 1983 (section 21B, as in force on 12 October 2026) spares holders of a Romanian medical degree listed in Annex V of the EU Directive the knowledge test other international graduates take through PLAB/UKMLA, but Romania's decision on study programmes for 2026-2027 (HG 191/2026, as amended by HG 606/2026) lists UMFST's Medicine in English in Hamburg as provisionally authorised (AP), not yet accredited, and neither the Act nor the GMC's Romania page says how a degree from such a programme is treated, so ask the GMC before you rely on it. Check the rules of the country where you want to practise.
Yes. The IvyTest simulator runs UMCH-format practice (75 questions across Biology, Chemistry and General Knowledge at the real 90-minute pace) in timed, tutor and review modes, with a free demo of the simulator available without payment.
No. UMCH publishes no past papers, no sample test and no PDF of questions: its pages describe the written evaluation only as 75 simple multiple-choice questions on biology, chemistry and general knowledge, equally weighted, in 90 minutes. Its paid Medical Foundation Track courses include preparation for the admission process. The practice questions on this page are IvyTest's own, written to that format.
There is no single exam day. UMCH runs the admission procedure on rolling dates, online or on site in Hamburg: the admission dates listed on 12 October 2026 were 14 October, 21 October and 4 November 2026, and individual dates are offered on request. UMCH names no intake for them: a successful candidate is offered a place for the next winter semester, within capacity, or else for the one after. Studies start at the end of September (the FAQ: end of September to mid-October), and the latest date to apply is the end of July (one answer on the application page says the end of August). You can apply up to two years in advance; the result comes within 48 hours.
UMCH calls its 75 questions simple and basic, and its FAQ says 90 minutes is more than enough time to answer them. What makes the assessment demanding is its shape: a third of the weighting is General Knowledge, an area with no published syllabus, the interview carries 40% of the result, and the evaluation follows the interview at the same admission appointment, as UMCH describes it. UMCH publishes no pass mark and no acceptance rate, so there is no official measure of how hard it is.
A school-leaving qualification that gives access to higher education: the Abitur or an equivalent such as A-Levels (at least two relevant subjects) or the International Baccalaureate. UMCH sets no minimum grade and no numerus clausus; a Fachabitur is accepted only together with a bachelor's degree. You need English at B2, shown by a certificate such as IELTS or Cambridge or by the test at the interview, plus the application documents and the €595 fee. You can apply from 11th or 12th grade, before your diploma. Diplomas from outside the EU, or not in English, German or Romanian, are checked individually by the admissions team.
Per semester, €14,900 for applicants from the EU, the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and the Vatican, and €17,400 for applicants from every other country, India included: UMCH sets no separate fee for any one country. On top come a one-time €595 application fee and a one-time €4,500 enrolment fee. The first year's tuition and the enrolment fee are due on signing the study contract, later semesters by 15 June and 15 December. UMCH's FAQ adds an option to finish the degree at UMFST's Târgu Mureș campus from year 3 at €3,000 per semester.
UMCH's own paid preparatory course, taught in English on the Hamburg campus or online, in small groups of at most 25. The 3-week summer crash course (Biology, Chemistry and Physics; €2,900) includes intensive preparation for the admission process and the chance of early admission on predicted grades; the 12-week intensive course (€6,800) adds mathematics, biochemistry, anatomy and medical theory. UMCH says new course dates will be announced. It is not required for admission: UMCH asks for no pre-med or foundation year, and offers the course to candidates who are not admitted, saying it improves their chances when they reapply.
Yes: classes in Hamburg are in English, and bedside teaching at German partner hospitals from year 3 is in German or English by UMCH's FAQ (its degree programme page says German or Spanish), so international students need German at about B2 by the start of year 3; UMCH includes free German courses. UMFST also runs its own Medicine in English programme at its Târgu Mureș campus in Romania, with a separate admission: in 2026, applications from 2 March to 25 August, four online interview sessions and tuition of €10,000 for 2026-2027. Both belong to UMFST's Faculty of International Medical Studies.
These searches are about UMFST's admission in Romania, not UMCH's. For Medicine in English in Târgu Mureș, UMFST ran a continuous 2026 admission from 2 March to 25 August 2026 with four interview sessions (25 March to 2 April, 15 to 19 June, 28 to 30 July and 1 to 4 September). It headed its second and third interview sessions 'Early admission 2026' (early admission, it says, secures a place a few months earlier) and uses no term regular admission. Its 2025 admission page is no longer online. Admitere 2026 is UMFST's Romanian-language enrolment portal. UMCH's own admission is the procedure on this page.
UMCH publishes no ranking position, so IvyTest gives none. What it states: UMFST, where its students are enrolled, is accredited by ARACIS, rated H+ by Germany's anabin portal and, with over 13,010 students, one of the largest medical universities in the EU by UMCH's description; the Hamburg programme was accredited by IAAR in 2023 and is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools. UMCH also says the English programme holds a provisional authorisation, the first stage of its accreditation; the second follows two years after the first cohort graduates.
