MU-Varna entrance exam score calculator
Enter your grades on the Bulgarian scale from 2.00 to 6.00. The calculator applies the Medical University of Varna's own formula (admission regulation, Art. 19): the grade in the official language from your school-leaving diploma, plus three times the Biology entry-test grade, plus three times the Chemistry entry-test grade, out of 42.00. The rule that matters most: a grade below 3.00 in either test means no ranking score at all.

How the ranking score works
- You sit two entry tests on the same day, Biology and Chemistry, 90 minutes each, online, each in five sections: multiple choice, gap filling, matching, true/false and definitions.
- Each test is marked by two examiners in points, by the volume and complexity of each question, and the grade is the mean of their two marks (Art. 15). MU-Varna does not publish how points become a grade, so this calculator starts from the grades.
- The ranking score is your diploma's grade in the official language of the country that issued it, plus three times the Biology grade, plus three times the Chemistry grade, at most 42.00 (Art. 19). Ties go to the higher Biology grade (Art. 23).
- Grades run from 2.00 to 6.00 and 3.00 is the lowest pass. A fail in either test, or in the English test where you sit it, means no ranking score (Art. 20). Non-EU applicants also need at least 65% of the maximum in the official-language subject.
- If you sit the tests twice, the higher grade counts (Art. 19). You see your results and your place in each staged ranking in the applicant portal, e-application.mu-varna.bg (Art. 24). MU-Varna publishes no list of admitted scores, so there is no past cut-off to compare against.
