Housing is guaranteed for all international students for their whole studies, in one of the university's seven halls of residence (not for students with families). The university's admissions site gives dormitory rooms from about €95 a month and a canteen meal at about €3.

If Palacký University assesses your foreign school-leaving certificate instead of a regional authority, its information for applicants gave the assessment fee as CZK 990 for 2025/26; the 2027/28 figure is not yet published.

Entry requirements

Palacký University medicine entry requirements

You need A-levels in three subjects or an equivalent completed secondary education; there is no grade requirement, and you may apply before you finish them. Everyone sits the entrance examination, a test paper in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics at A-level standard, once per academic year; the faculty publishes no question count or marking scheme.

If English is not your first language, you either show a certificate (Cambridge FCE at least, IELTS 6, TOEFL 87, PTE Academic 59, or a psychometric test) or take the faculty's own English test; applicants educated in English are exempt. School documents from abroad need, depending on the country, a verified copy, an apostille or superlegalisation, and an official translation into Czech or English if they are in another language.

How to apply

Palacký University application deadline and timeline

Apply through the faculty's online application form (General Medicine or Dentistry) between 1 November 2026 and 31 July 2027. There is no single deadline: your complete application, with every document uploaded and the fee paid, is due two weeks before the exam date you choose. The 2027 dates and venues will be posted by the end of 2026; independent applicants can join any of the online dates.

Non-EU applicants are strongly advised to choose a date no later than May, because a Czech residence permit can take up to three months.

How many places? The General Medicine page says 'Estimated number of admissions 80', with no year, while the faculty's Czech rules for the programmes in English expect 65 admissions to General Medicine and 20 to Dentistry. The faculty publishes no applicant numbers, so there is no official acceptance rate. The 2026-2027 admissions notice describes that oral part: after the written exam, an interview with the Board of Admissions about your motivation and academic background, with results within a week of it.

Curriculum

The six-year General Medicine curriculum in Olomouc

The programme in English follows the same curriculum as the Czech one and leads to the MUDr. title (Doctor of Medicine) after six years. Semesters 1 to 4 are mostly theoretical (anatomy, biology, biochemistry, biophysics, histology, physiology), semesters 5 to 7 preclinical (pathology, microbiology, pharmacology), and clinical subjects follow. The degree ends with state examinations in Paediatrics, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and Epidemiology, Law and Social Medicine.

The faculty says the programme is accredited by the USA, Canada and Malaysia, among others, and has recently been accredited by the Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE). Clinical teaching is at the University Hospital Olomouc.

The faculty's admissions page adds that it is accredited by a WFME-recognised authority, that its graduates are eligible for the USMLE pathway, and that the teaching hospital is directly on campus: the Theoretical Institutes at Hněvotínská 3 stand on the same site as University Hospital Olomouc. It calls Olomouc a student city where every fifth person is a student.
